Privacy Policy
How Seal Education handles data.
Plain-language summary below. This is a working draft and should be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before being relied upon as your final published policy.
Privacy Policy
Draft — last updated alongside this website build.
This page is a draft to get you started, not legal advice. Have it reviewed by a qualified lawyer, especially given that many users are minors, before publishing it as your binding policy.
Information We Collect
Account details (name, contact information, school/college), usage data (study activity, checkpoint results, session activity) used to personalise learning, and device information for the take-home tablet program.
How We Use It
- To personalise study plans, question papers, and video pacing
- To generate progress reports for the Parent App
- To support teachers with cohort composition and check-in scheduling
Children's Privacy
Many Seal Education users are minors. We collect only what's needed to run the learning platform, and school/parent consent is part of enrollment. Camera access on take-home tablets is limited to declared, session-scoped use with a visible on-screen indicator — never silent background monitoring.
Data Sharing
We do not sell student or parent data to third parties. Data may be shared with the partnered school for academic oversight, and with service providers strictly to operate the platform.
Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data. No system is perfectly secure, and we'll communicate clearly if that ever changes materially.
Your Rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to what the school/college relationship and applicable law require us to retain.
Changes to This Policy
We'll update this page as the product changes, and note the date at the top.
